The second Oral Health Prevention Summit is scheduled for January 28, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts. The event will convene dental professionals, educators, innovators, and industry stakeholders to discuss approaches to prevention-focused care delivery.
The 2026 theme is “How to Make Prevention Profitable,” reflecting ongoing interest among dental practices, dental service organizations, health systems, and public health leaders in shifting from reactive treatment toward preventive models. The summit will address how prevention can be integrated into clinical workflows, operations, and business planning.
The keynote speaker will be Margherita R. Fontana, DDS, PhD, whose work focuses on caries management, risk-based care, and translational research intended to connect scientific evidence with clinical practice. Her presentation will open the day’s programming.
The agenda includes a new Prevention Ecosystem Workshop. According to the organizers of the event, this session is designed as a fast-paced forum in which product developers present preventive technologies and demonstrate their use in dental practices. The workshop will include interactive demonstrations, rapid presentations, and downloadable resources, offering what the organization describes as a broad view of current preventive approaches that are emerging, scalable, or ready for implementation.
Topics to be addressed during the workshop include artificial intelligence-based clinical tools, salivary diagnostics with personalized risk scoring, teledentistry and remote monitoring models, airway assessment with early intervention strategies, caries biomarker detection and early risk identification, remineralization and noninvasive therapies, minimally invasive restorative methods, behavior change science and patient motivation frameworks, care integration and whole-person prevention models, and technology-based approaches to improving patient compliance, according to the organization.
The speaker lineup includes Jonny Norris, DMD; Melissa K. Turner, BASDH, RDHEP, EFDA; Jessica Woods, MPH, RDH, FADH; Brian Novy, DDS; Roya Khosravi-Far, PhD, PLD; Bryan Laskin, DDS; Mary E. Foley, MPH; Eva Allen; Mark E. Doherty, DMD, CAGS; Carolyn Brown, DDS, MA; Ann Cadoret, MPH, MS; and Hayley Buckner, RDH, BS, according to the organization.
Hosted annually in Boston, the Oral Health Prevention Summit serves as a forum for clinicians, educators, dental service organizations, manufacturers, policymakers, and innovators focused on preventive, data-driven, and patient-centered approaches to care, according to the organization.
