Dental Design Review (DDR) has launched a cloud-based collaboration platform designed to support communication between dental laboratories and clinicians during restorative design review and approval workflows.
According to the company, the platform enables dental laboratories to share 3D restorative cases directly with doctors through email-based review links, eliminating the need for software installations, account creation, or traditional email exchanges. The platform was developed for dental laboratories seeking to improve communication with clinicians, accelerate approvals, and provide a digital review experience.
Laboratories can upload multiple STL files, full restorative case file sets, and 3Shape ZIP exports. Once uploaded, DDR automatically sends a secure review link to the doctor using passwordless “magic link” access technology. According to the company, doctors can access cases from desktop computers, tablets, or mobile devices without creating an account or downloading CAD software.
Within the review interface, doctors can view restorations in interactive 3D, rotate and inspect designs through a web browser, approve cases digitally, request redesigns, and leave notes and feedback. The platform also includes a Snapshot & Markup feature that allows doctors to capture images of a 3D design and visually identify areas requiring adjustment. According to the company, the feature is intended to support communication between clinicians and technicians by reducing reliance on text-only feedback during redesign requests.
When a case is approved, DDR stores the doctor’s digital sign-off for laboratory documentation and approval records. The platform also automatically notifies laboratories when a doctor approves a case or requests changes.
“Dental labs have evolved dramatically on the manufacturing side, but many are still handling doctor approvals through screenshots, PDFs, and long email chains,” said Saro Hatzakortzian, founder of DDR. “We wanted to create a modern collaboration layer that makes 3D design review faster, easier, and more accessible for both labs and clinicians.”
According to the company, the platform is fully mobile-friendly, allowing doctors to review and respond to cases from their phones whether chairside, at home, or away from the office.
DDR describes itself as a cloud-based 3D collaboration platform focused on simplifying communication between dental laboratories and clinicians during restorative case review and approval processes. According to the company, the platform enables laboratories to securely share interactive 3D designs through passwordless browser-based review experiences accessible on desktop and mobile devices.
