Dentsply Sirona and High Point University have entered into a long-term collaboration to integrate advanced dental technologies into the university’s dental education program, beginning in summer 2025. According to the company, the agreement is intended to support hands-on training and prepare students for clinical practice in modern dental environments.
The partnership centers on High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine in High Point, North Carolina, which will incorporate a range of Dentsply Sirona’s equipment and digital workflow solutions. According to Dentsply Sirona, the university’s facilities will be outfitted with Intego Treatment Centers, Primescan intraoral scanners, Primemill milling machines, Primeprint 3D Printing Solutions, CEREC software, Heliodent and Orthophos CBCTs, as well as consumables, handpieces, Cavitron ultrasonic scalers, X-Smart Pro + kits, and implants.
Dentsply Sirona will supply technology to several locations tied to the program, including a simulation clinic, digital lab, and community-based education hubs. The simulation clinic will include 66 advanced stations to be equipped with Dentsply Sirona systems, according to the company.
“We know the future of dentistry lies in the seamless integration of advanced technology into education and practice. This partnership with High Point University represents an exciting and rare opportunity to transform dental education,” said Bruce Peatey, group vice president, Americas, at Dentsply Sirona. “By equipping HPU’s simulation clinic, digital lab, and community hubs with our cutting-edge workflow solutions, we are empowering students to master the tools, techniques, and connected ecosystems that define modern dentistry. Our goal is for HPU graduates to not only be practice-ready but also leaders in delivering innovative, connected, and patient-centered care.”
According to High Point University, its dental program integrates clinical education throughout all four years. Students begin with simulation training and limited clinical work in community-based hubs in High Point, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro, North Carolina, during the first two years. In the final two years, students move exclusively into clinical care roles at these hubs.
“At the heart of this partnership is our commitment to our students,” said Dr. Kevin Cain, senior associate dean at the Workman School of Dental Medicine. “By integrating Dentsply Sirona’s advanced technologies into every stage of their education, we’re giving our students the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a setting that mirrors the future of dentistry. This collaboration ensures they graduate not just ready to practice, but ready to lead.”
As part of the collaboration, High Point University will name its simulation lab the “Advanced Simulation Lab Powered by Dentsply Sirona.” The same designation will be applied to the clinical hubs in the three cities mentioned above for a period of 15 years.
Ali Shazib, DMD, of the Workman School of Dental Medicine, said, “The partnership between Dentsply Sirona and Workman School of Dental Medicine combines innovation and life skills to transform and elevate healthcare and education. This bold and progressive partnership will provide our learners, faculty, and team members to explore collaborations in research, education, clinical care, and quality assurance. Our patients, faculty, and learners all win from this partnership.”
